At Summit we love seeing lives changed by Jesus–which is why we cheer and rejoice with each new person who is connected into God’s family.

This Sunday we have the opportunity to celebrate after each service with people who are getting baptized!

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone. The new is here!” (2 Cor. 5:17)

God makes the promise of a clean slate that so many people in our world long to experience.  In baptism people begin a whole new life in Christ… It never gets old to see individuals and families made new by God’s work in their lives!

Sometimes people plan far in advance to be baptized.  Other times it is an immediate response to what God is doing.

The Bible shares about a man from Ethiopia was on a road trip going home from Jerusalem when his life was forever changed.  The disciple Philip told him the Good News about what Jesus had done… and the man believed.
As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, “Look, here is water. What can stand in the way of my being baptized?” Acts 8:36

He was baptized right then and made a part of God’s family. The Ethiopian eunuch realized that nothing was more important than trusting God’s promises.

If you or your kids haven’t been baptized, let me ask you a question…

Why wait?
In Acts 16, an entire family was baptized in the middle of the night because the father believed in Jesus. He realized he didn’t need to clean up his life first or answer every question–it was simply time to trust God’s plan and new life.  I encourage you to check out our Baptism FAQ’s to learn more about what the Bible teaches and the importance of baptism for you (and your family).

This Sunday we would love for you and/or your kids to be baptized as you respond in faith.

You can register here or simply come to the Baptism Bash table in the lobby this Sunday. We’ll have towels, “Made New” t-shirts, shorts and everything people will need to participate that morning. Feel free to contact niki@summitcc.org with any questions.

It’s going to be an exciting weekend!

Yours in Christ,

Pastor Nate
