In this study, we are going on a 40-day adventure to serve like Jesus. We were made for more than just believing and existing until you die. You were made to serve, just like Jesus. For the first 6-weeks together we will look at 5 aspects of serving like Jesus: attitude, availability, action, ability, and ambition. For these 40 days, we will be on a life changing journey to SERVE like Him. Daily devotionals, serving challenges, and reflective questions will be a part of each week.

During our group, we will spend time connecting with one another, sharing the discoveries from our devotions, watch a video by the study author, dig into our bible and learn from one another in our discussions. We will also decide on a group service project for us to do together.

The final few weeks of our group we will jump into another study together, the Book of Amos. This study covers Amos, the prophet who delivered God’s message to the Northern Kingdom of Israel in the 8th century BC. At the time, Israel’s people were confident in their prosperity, believing God was on their side and that the “Day of the Lord” would soon deliver them from their enemies. However, the wealthy and powerful were exploiting the poor, worshiping false gods, and indulging in excess. Amos warns that the Day of the Lord would instead be a day of judgment against Israel, predicting their impending fall to the Assyrian empire. He passionately advocates for justice, declaring, “Let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!” Through Amos’ message, we are reminded that true worship of God should always lead to justice, righteousness, and loving our neighbor.

Each participant will need a Serving Challenge book. Books can be picked up in the lobby at Summit on the weekends during services or throughout the week, Mon-Thurs, from 9-4pm. There is a $15 donation for each book to help cover the costs.
