As we celebrated Thanksgiving with family in town, there was a great debate about when to start putting up Christmas decorations. Some said that you can start the day after Thanksgiving and others said you have to wait until December…

So how do you answer that question? In our house the post-Thanksgiving crowd (Liz and our daughter Anna) won as we started decorating on Sunday afternoon.

As our church heads into this Christmas season, there are many ways we get prepared.  It’s a great time of year to celebrate Jesus, make a difference in our community and invite others to experience God’s love this Christmas!

For the past couple weeks, people have been taking home tags from our Christmas tree to support the Homeless Youth Connection, Buckeye Superheroes and All Faith Community Services. This Sunday is the deadline to bring them back to church.

If you didn’t pick up a tag, it’s not too late to participate. Simply bring some unwrapped toys, diapers, toiletries or gift cards with you to church this Sunday. Find a good sale and have fun shopping!

Thanks to everyone who has given already as we bless local West Valley families this Christmas.

Snow Summit this Saturday

This Saturday night we are hosting a snow play area for local families. It’s a fun way to bless our community and invite people to our Christmas services. Pray for the Holy Spirit to bless the conversations and connections on Saturday!
You are welcome to join the fun and bring your kids (or grandkids) if they want to experience some snow this weekend. It’s located at the Village Green Park with some other activities hosted by Verrado from 5:00-9:00pm (click for directions).
We will have four Christmas services this year at Summit:
December 23 – 4:30 & 6:00pm
December 24 – 4:30 & 6:00pm
Now that it’s December, many people are naturally starting to think about Christmas plans.  Look for opportunities to invite friends and neighbors to join us for worship as we celebrate the reason for the season!
Yours in Christ,
Pastor Nate

P.S. Join us this Sunday as we begin a new message series called “Finding Wonder.” I’m excited about it and pray that God blesses our faith as we turn our hearts toward Him this Christmas season!
