People often say that they want the very best for their kids or a spouse.

It’s a reflection of the love and priority that they naturally place on that relationship. And here’s the good news… our Heavenly Father has the same posture toward us as well!

If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all–how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” Romans 8:31-32

God is extravagant in his generosity and loves to see his kids have that same open-handed posture in life.

It’s why we’re in the middle of a series at Summit called “Our First and Best.” God calls us to grow in generosity toward others and to honor Him first with our giving. It takes steps of faith (and trust in Him), but our Heavenly Father blesses people who choose to live that way!

This Thanksgiving season, one tangible way you can help to bless at-risk children in our community is by bringing some unwrapped toys, diapers and other supplies to church.

There are gift tags available in the lobby this weekend at church with specific recommendations. Simply bring your donations to worship this Sunday (or by Sunday, Dec. 3). We’ll then provide them to our community partners – who will serve many West Valley families this Christmas season!

2018 Mission & Ministry Fund

Later this month, I’m asking everyone who worships at Summit (even for part of the year) to seek God’s guidance and make a 2018 commitment to our Mission & Ministry Fund.

In fact, if you regularly attend or support Summit, check your mail for a letter from me and a guide for growth in giving.

It’s an important year for our church–because God is opening new doors to impact our community and help more people meet Jesus. Your decision to grow in generosity will make a huge difference at this pivotal time.

It’s also a tangible way that God grows your faith. Jesus often taught his disciples to be intentional about how they approached money and generosity!

We’re not asking you to make a commitment this weekend. Take some time, pray about it and talk with your spouse (if married). I’m praying that God blesses that faith journey in the days to come.

I can’t wait to see what God has in store. As we trust in Him, my prayer is that He makes 2018 the best year ever for you and our church!

Yours in Christ,

Pastor Nate
