Thomas Jefferson

“I like the dreams of the future better than the history of the past.” That’s not fake news – the third President of the U.S. really said it.

Without realizing it, we often carry something around with us everywhere we go. We bring it out in conversations, and it shows up in our attitudes. It may be something real, or perceived, or a bit of both; yet its power resides in us and prevents us from moving forward.

Pastor Nate is going to tackle that head on this Sunday as our Fake News series of messages wraps up with “Three Strikes and Your’e Out!”  I know he’s going to have some fun with it (he usually does) and it’s a message we all need to hear.

That’s because our past is who and what we know best – kind of like our favorite easy chair or old shoes that just feel right. But God commands us, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.” (Isaiah 43:18), lest we miss the new thing He is doing right in front of us!

Feed My Starving Children

This weekend (April 14-15), our church and community will join together to pack 280,000 meals in one weekend to help bring hope to hungry kids.

Don’t miss this opportunity!  After our meal-packing sessions, we’ll even have a fun outdoor party with games, activities, and food trucks to celebrate! (Even if you’re not packing, stay for lunch on Sunday after the 10:45 service.)Here are the links to get involved:

If the registration links are showing full don’t sweat it – just show up about 30 minutes early to register and we’ll work you in.

However you can serve or help to fund these meals, we appreciate your partnership in ministry! If you have any questions, feel free to contact kori@summitcc.org.

Thanks and blessings

Pastor Vince
