Join us this Sunday and get the first look at some changes as we head into the new school year! We will have the “soft launch” for our new children’s ministry venues (now called Summit Kids). We are very proud of the work our staff and ministry leaders have done these past few months to get ready! Here’s what to expect:
#1 – Entire service, age-appropriate Sunday environments for K-5 during both worship times. Parents will check their children in before worship, providing us more time to work with the children and alleviate the safety challenges of moving kids during the service.
#2 – New locations within VHS, with new furnishings, programming & tech enhancements. By the grace of God, we’ve been reaching more children… and we need more room. What a great challenge!
#3 – New worship format designed especially for children. (Since they are no longer participating in the opening portion of worship in the auditorium.) While we won’t prevent families from worshiping together, we’ll encourage children to be in the environments designed for them, while adults are in the auditorium. If your family prefers to worship together, we suggest doing so at one hour, and then serving in your child’s area or another ministry during the second hour.
#4 – A “Summit Kids” t-shirt for all preschool-5th grade students who come this weekend.
You will also notice in the lobby a new “Next Steps” area. Whether someone is a new guest or has been attending Summit for a while, this will be a place to ask questions, get connected and take steps of faith.
It is going to be a great weekend, and the following Sunday will be our Back to School Brunch. A free, buffet-style breakfast will be served on August 16th after both services, and we’ll have a special gift for all teachers in our community. It will be a fun day!
To help our team plan for food, please take a moment now to RSVP. Help spread the word and invite your friends.

P.S. Pray with us for a great beginning to this school year. It is exciting to see so many people connecting and growing in faith. We appreciate all you do as we carry out our mission to “Reach the world for Jesus, one life at a time.”
