8/11/17 – A Fun Start to the Year!

It’s going to be a fun Sunday, so come join us for worship and bring some friends!

We will celebrate the start of the new school year with some breakfast, games and activities following both services.

Teacher supplies are also being gathered so that we can bless all the teachers at Verrado High School with a teacher gift basket.

Thank you to everyone who already brought back some supplies. If you picked up a gift tag this past week or two, please bring those supplies with you this Sunday as the gift baskets are assembled.

If you want to help encourage the teachers who share their space with us every weekend – you can click here to see needed supplies or simply bring some Clorox wipes and Kleenex boxes.

A New Beginning

I love this time of year because it brings so many new beginnings! For many kids it means a new school or new teachers. For some parents, it means that a child will be dropped off at a college dorm room for the first time.

On a personal level, many people find hope in the fact that they can make a fresh start in that new year. Grades have yet to be recorded–and there are new opportunities to pursue.

In Isaiah 43, God makes some incredible promises to his people about the future. He says not be be afraid, because He is with them. God says not to dwell on their sins in the past but to embrace new life with Him! He goes on to share how that new life has already begun:

“For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” Isaiah 43:19

Spiritually, this season is a powerful time for individuals and families to grow in their faith!

In this time of new schedules and new priorities, seek what God has planned in an intentional way. Decide now to make worship and a Growth Group a part of your rhythm of life this fall. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you ways that He wants you to grow and make a difference.

I’m praying for you, our church and our community. I can’t wait to see what the Lord has planned!
