7/30/15 – Praying for Our Community

Flagpole PrayerI’m so proud of our church and the many ways you serve! Early on at Summit we committed to make an impact “beyond our walls” and believed that God was calling us to make a difference in our community.

This Friday morning we have a God-given opportunity to join hands around the flagpole and pray for the newest school opening in Verrado. Please join us tomorrow if you can make it:

Friday, July 31 from 7-7:15am
Gather at the 6:45am at the school flagpole
Verrado Heritage Elementary (20895 W Hamilton St.)
Entire families are welcome

You won’t be put on the spot to pray out loud if that is not something you are comfortable doing. But I would love to see a big group from our church turn out and join hands together to demonstrate our support.

What an honor to pray for our community, teachers and students! It’s early in the morning because it is not an “official” school event–it is something Summit is doing for our community.

It is happening in part because we had a group of ten volunteers help on campus yesterday. The principal was so thankful for our church’s support. I asked if we could pray for them as well, and she welcomed us to come before the school year begins.

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” (Colossians 4:2)

Many students and Christians will pray for their schools during the year at See You at the Pole events. I’m excited to ask the Lord’s protection and blessing for this new school as they open for the first time.

It is going to be a great weekend! We will also kick off a new series this Sunday called “Uncommon Courage.”

Yours in Christ,

Pastor Nate
