It was fantastic to worship at Summit this past weekend after a couple weeks on the road with my family! We enjoyed our trip to the nation’s capital and the chance to worship with friends out there.
One of the highlights of the trip was seeing President Lincoln’s memorial for the first time. It was moving to read some of his greatest speeches, knowing he gave his life in the battle to end slavery.
The level of leadership displayed by men and women through the years in our nation is inspiring! So many of them were followers of Jesus Christ and wanted to honor Him and our country through their service. They held deeply to this spiritual truth in their personal lives:
“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” (John 8:36)
As we return back home, I am recharged and ready for an incredible season of ministry this fall. There is nothing like great leadership–and we have some incredible men and women who lead in our church as well.
Know that you are in my prayers. Thank you to all of you who lead, serve, give and participate in what God is doing here in the West Valley! Our family is thankful that Summit is our spiritual family and that you are a part of it.
See You Sunday,
P.S. Pastor Vince did a great job on Sunday preaching about the sixth Beatitude: “Blessed are the Pure in Heart.” Click on the link to left to check it out and the Refrigerator story if you missed it…
P.P.S. All of our Sunday message videos are available on demand at www.summitcc.org/sermons. It’s a great way stay connected when you are traveling for work or play.
