4/29/15 – A Hole in One!

Hole in OneThis Saturday we will host the Summit Charity Golf Tournament at the Verrado Golf Club. It’s will be a fun day to raise money for some of our local and global mission projects, and last year someone even shot a hole in one!

Want to play in our scramble? There are 8 foursomes available if you would like to participate personally or bring an entire team of four. It’s easy to register online or sponsor a team through your business.

Baptism Bash

On Sunday we will celebrate our spring Baptism Bash following both services. I am excited to see that many people have already signed up and want to be baptized into God’s family!

A hole in one is celebrated and talked about by every golfer who sees it. Let’s make this Sunday an even bigger celebration as lives are forever changed! As Jesus said in Luke 15:10, “there is joy in the presence of God’s angels when even one sinner repents.”

Invite someone to come with you to worship and experience this joyful day. Who knows? Perhaps God might start working in the life of your friend or family member in a new way as well. I’ve known many people through the years who started thinking about baptism or re-connecting with church after seeing a Baptism Bash.

If you or your kids have not been baptized, I want to encourage you to take that step and experience this gift from God. Contact heather@summitcc.org with any questions. You can also fill out our online Baptism Bash form to register now or talk with the baptism team on Sunday morning.

Our Baptism Bash t-shirts say: “Never Gonna Be the Same.” It is so true because we get a new identity in Christ and a place in God’s family. Come celebrate with us this weekend and pray for our ongoing ministry to “reach the world for Jesus, one life at a time.”

Yours in Christ,

Pastor Nate

P.S. Several people have asked how they can help with relief efforts following the 7.8-magnitude earthquake in Nepal. Our recommendations are Lutheran World Relief and World Vision as great ministries doing work on the ground.
