Our Children’s Ministry team is excited to announce that registration is open for our 2015 Vacation Bible School! It is an incredible week for students, so we hope you will get involved and invite families in our community to participate.
The VBS dates have been moved one week earlier than we originally publicized. Please note the new information below:
The high school district will be going into afternoon and evening “hibernation” mode to save on energy costs beginning June 1. That will require a change in the dates we had scheduled. Their APS rates will increase dramatically for the summer, and they are being required by the state to lower energy costs while school is out of session.
We have a very positive working relationship with Verrado High School and the Agua Fria Union High School District. They apologized for the change in schedule and have been very helpful as we discussed possible solutions.
Ultimately the team decided to stay with our normal evening format and move one week earlier. It will be four nights from Tuesday-Friday (because of Memorial Day on Monday). Our normal Sunday morning worship schedule will not be affected by the district summer “hibernation” schedule.
I am so proud of the Children’s Ministry team and Summit staff! Across the board they’ve had a positive, make-it-happen attitude and found a great solution for our kids. We know it is going to be a fun and fantastic week. Thank you for helping us spread the word!
Yours in Christ,
P.S. Come join us this Sunday as I share a message called “Jesus Heals.” I can’t wait to tell you about another miracle that happened this year at Summit. God is certainly at work! If you missed this past weekend, you can check out “The Grace Place” message online.
