The sun is now shining, and the weather is going to be beautiful for our Movie Night in the Park tomorrow. I hope you can join us and bring some friends!
If you have never experienced one of our movie nights, it is a great family experience! We do them because we love our community and appreciate your help to spread the word. Just bring a blanket or lawn chair, and you are all set for the night at Walton Park in Verrado.
Starting at 6:00pm, free hamburgers and hot dogs will be served off the grill. Popcorn and water are also provided, and there will be candy and soda available for a donation (that will support our youth mission team this summer). The movie will begin at sunset.
Keep your eyes open, pray for our community and look for ways to reach out. The first step for a neighbor just might be a movie night or an Easter Sunday service. You never know what God will do when you “walk across the room” and extend a personal invitation.
I am so excited about 2015 as the “Year of Changed Lives” at Summit. We are already seeing more people follow Jesus and experience new life; I’m praying for many more! None of it would be possible without the Easter victory won by our Savior:
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead…” 1 Peter 1:3.
It is a powerful weekend to celebrate the hope we have and share that good news with others. Here are Summit’s Easter worship times:
Good Friday (April 3) at 6 & 7:30pm
Easter Sunday (April 5) at 8, 9:30 & 11am
Children’s ministry will be provided on Sunday morning at all three services. Youth worship will be at 11am.
Every year people ask me when it will be most crowded on Easter (and if there is a helpful time to attend). We are encouraging regular attenders at Summit to come to the 8am service if you can. We also need lots of volunteers that weekend, so click here if you would like to help make it happen!
Research shows that many people are open to an Easter Sunday invitation if it comes from someone they know. Thank you for reaching out in whatever way works best for you! One tool on the new Summit website is the “evite” page that allows you to send an invite postcard by e-mail.
I can’t wait to celebrate Easter with our church and community!
Yours in Christ,
P.S. Pastor Vince Parks joined us this past Sunday. If you missed his first message you can watch it here.
