2/24/16 – Let’s Celebrate

Don’t miss worship this weekend as we celebrate what God has done throughout this church-wide Genius of Generosity series!

Following both services on Sunday, a light brunch will be served with breakfast burritos, muffins, etc. Join us as we celebrate the “Clear the Shelves” project, Mexico mission trip, group generosity projects and personal steps of faith that took place this past month!

Our goal through this entire series has been to embrace the Genius of Generosity. Many people have thanked us for the way it has helped them see God in a different way and become more generous in everyday life.

We not only learned from God’s Word that He desires to work through us to bless others–we experienced it in tangible ways. Paul reminds us of God’s overflowing generosity:

“You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.” 2 Corinthians 9:11

I long for my kids to grow up to be generous followers of Jesus. It’s a genius way of life filled with adventure, joy and peace! Liz and I have seen God answer prayers and grow our faith through the years as we took steps of faith in generosity. I pray that you and your family will experience Him at work in your lives this way as well!

To help everyone take a step of faith in generosity, we shared a commitment card (front & back) last Sunday in worship.

For some of you it may be the first time you’ve ever made a commitment to support God’s work. For others it will be a step along your spiritual journey. It is a big deal to honor God financially, and He is so faithful as we trust Him.

Check out this 2-page “Life-Changing Generosity” document I wrote to help us answer three key questions from God’s Word:

Why do we give?
How should we give?
What happens when we give?

This coming Sunday I’m asking everyone who considers Summit their church home (even for part of the year) to pray about and turn in a commitment card to support Summit’s mission & ministry. Generosity impacts us in every way, but putting God first financially is a vital part of our spiritual life.

Thank you for your partnership in ministry! It is a joy to follow Jesus with you. I can’t wait to see what God does in our church and in your life as we courageously follow where He leads.

Yours in Christ,

Pastor Nate

P.S. Got a minute? Take this short 5-question survey about Financial Peace University. We’d love to get your feedback about this resource and figure out the best way to help you (and others) win when it comes to their money. Thanks!
