December is a great time to make a difference in our local community!
For the past couple weeks, people have been taking home tags from our Christmas tree to support the Homeless Youth Connection, Buckeye Superheroes and All Faith Community Services. This Sunday is the deadline to bring them back to church.
If you didn’t pick up a tag, it’s not too late to participate. Simply bring some unwrapped toys, diapers, new clothes or gift cards with you to church this Sunday. Find a good sale and have fun shopping!
God’s Word teaches us that it’s a responsibility and a blessing for His people to help others:
“Give generously to the poor, not grudgingly, for the Lord your God will bless you in everything you do. There will always be some in the land who are poor. That is why I am commanding you to share freely…” (Deuteronomy 15:10-11)
Thanks in advance for your generosity as we seek to serve local West Valley families this Christmas season.
I’ve had a few people talk with me this week about family, friends and neighbors they are inviting to join us at Summit for Christmas. I love it! Join me in praying now for others in our community and look for opportunities to invite people you know on December 23rd and 24th.
If you have children, families will worship together at all three services (with childcare provided for younger kids).
Christmas Day and New Year’s Day both fall on Sundays, so here’s the plan those weeks: We will make available a special at-home worship experience for everyone to use with family and friends on December 25th. On January 1st there will be one service at 10:00am (with our normal Summit Kids and Apex youth service).
P.S. Join us this Sunday for the next message in our series, “How to Deal with How You Feel.“
