1/14/16 – God’s Blessings in 2016!

As we enter 2016, you and the rest of Summit are in my prayers. I’m excited about the year to come and believe it will be a very impactful season of ministry for our church!

The Lord has blessed us with some great opportunities in the past couple months. I’ve had many people share with me: “God is really moving in our church, and it feels like there is a lot of momentum right now.”

I agree! It is a beautiful thing to watch the Holy Spirit make a difference one life at a time (and in our church as a whole). Let’s prayerfully seek the Lord in 2016 – that our families, church and community would see Him more clearly than ever before.

Join a Growth Group

One of the best decisions you can make at the start of the year is to put yourself (and family) in environments for spiritual growth. Along with Sunday worship, joining a Growth Group is one of the best ways to move forward in faith.

“And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.” Hebrews 10:25

It’s true–we all need encouragement! Summit’s Growth Groups are a great way to be encouraged in your faith, apply God’s Word in everyday life and build some Christian friendships.

Everyone is welcome to join a group, and you don’t have to be a bible expert. We simply love to see people grow and take next steps in their faith (wherever they start the year). Everyone is welcome, so invite a friend to join you!

I’m excited about the 4-week series we will do together as a church (before each group begins its own topic). Review the options online and register now using these links for adults and youth. Questions? Contact kori@summitcc.org.

Christmas Offering Update

Last Sunday it was a blast to reveal the generous offering given at our Christmas services! If you weren’t able to join us for worship, you can watch the check presentation video.

After I made the presentation, Janine Skinner from Feed My Starving Children (www.fmsc.org) thanked our church and shared the impact Summit has made in the past five years.

96eb7e2c-c341-4ffa-bb7d-a4520c03c026God led us to give it all away. It was a step of faith to answer that prompting from the Holy Spirit, and I’m so thankful we did. People were moved to be a part of it. Children’s lives will be changed. The Lord honored our church with some great opportunities following that step of faith. And most importantly, it has given us a chance to glorify God for His incredible generosity.

Thanks for being a part of God’s work at Summit! I can’t wait to see what He has in store for us next.

See You Sunday,

Pastor Nate

P.S. Our next Feed My Starving Children meal packing event will be on April 30 & May 1 at Verrado High School. Save the date, invite others to participate and help us pack 300,000 meals in one weekend!
