How are you getting ready for Christmas?
In our family we normally pull out decorations the day after Thanksgiving, and this year was no exception. Our kids make sure it happens right away! Christmas music is also playing in the background (when we can convince Alexa to play the right station).
As we prepare our hearts to celebrate the greatest gift of all (our Savior Jesus), we have a great opportunity this weekend to lean into this season by:
- Having some fun at our Snow Summit
- Blessing others in our community through the Joy of Giving project
For the past couple weeks people have been bringing unwrapped toys, diapers, baby wipes, non-perishable food and gift cards (for homeless teens). Thanks!
This is the final Sunday to bring those donated items (to bless local kids & families struggling this Christmas).
We will present all of your donations to leaders from three local Christian and community charities this weekend as a part of worship. It’s going to be a great morning!
All Faith Community Services, Buckeye Super Heroes and the Homeless Youth Connection will then use your gifts to impact West Valley families this Christmas season. Thanks for giving generously as we love our community in the name of Jesus!
Snow Summit this Saturday
This Saturday evening we are hosting a snow play area for local families. It’s a fun way to bless our community and invite people to our Christmas services. Pray for the Holy Spirit to bless those connections & conversations!
You are welcome to join the fun and bring your kids (or grandkids) if they want to experience some snow this weekend. It’s located at the Village Green Park with other activities for kids and adults hosted by Verrado from 5:00pm-9:00pm (click for directions)
You and your family are in my prayers.
P.S. Keep your eyes open for opportunities to invite friends and neighbors to join us for Christmas at Summit. People are naturally starting to think about Christmas plans, and a personal invitation can make a difference!
