One of my greatest joys as a pastor is to see the way God transforms and changes lives.

It’s why I love seeing stories of Unlikely Heroes scattered throughout the Bible!

In the past two weeks, I shared about how the Lord worked through the life of Gideon and Rahab. This week I’m excited to preach about an Unlikely Hero from the New Testament. He usually wasn’t an up-front leader… but God used him behind the scenes to make a big difference.

Through this series, I pray that you (and the rest of our church) will be open to some of the unlikely ways that God wants to work through you.

The following passage is a great reminder that our Heavenly Father not only can use unlikely people… He often chooses to use unlikely people!

Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.  1 Corinthians 1:26-27

I truly believe that God has gifted and shaped everyone to make a difference. Watch for the opportunities He will give you to impact others in our church and community. Without even realizing it, you may end up becoming an Unlikely Hero for someone else!

See You Sunday,

Pastor Nate
